Burg Properties wasn’t built in a corporate boardroom — it was born from a lifetime of hard work, grit, and a deep love for the city of Philadelphia.
Co-founder Danilo A. Burgos spent his youth working inside his family’s bodegas in South and West Philly. While earning his degree at Temple University, he immersed himself in major local projects, including helping project-manage the transformation of a historic hat factory into a 97-unit apartment and commercial complex.
In 2019, Danilo and his brother launched Burg Properties LLC with a simple, disruptive strategy: while the rest of the city chased luxury-only developments, they chose to focus on comfortable, high-quality, and economically viable homes for everyone.
“Witnessing the boom of luxury housing fueled us to develop a strategy that caters to the needs of all individuals. We believe that everyone deserves a great place to live.”
Burg Properties was founded in 2019 by the Burgos brothers, with a mission to create affordable, quality housing — not just across Philadelphia, but across Pennsylvania and beyond.
“We didn't set out to build the biggest portfolio in the city — we set out to build the right one. Every property we touch is a chance to prove that quality and affordability aren't opposites. We were fortunate to see continued growth on our portfolio, and we intend to keep earning it, one building at a time.”
As the face of Burg Properties, co-founder Danilo A. Burgos has built the company while pushing past the barriers minority-owned businesses often face in real estate — turning that challenge into the drive behind Burg's mission: proving that quality housing doesn't have to come at a premium. Rather than running things from behind a desk, he's on-site — walking the properties, checking the work with his own eyes instead of relying on paperwork, and working alongside the crews directly. Just as he stays hands-on at work, he also stays hands-on in the neighborhoods the company serves, active in several community and industry organizations, including the Tacony Community Development Corporation (Tacony CDC), Heights Philadelphia, and the Greater Philadelphia Association of REALTORS® (GPAR).
